Cooking with Chef Jen

Skip the recipes. Say goodbye to the meal kits. Focus on cooking one ingredient at a time, really well.

…Like a Pro.

I know you like to cook, and eat.

Groceries are expensive these days… and we try to stay on top of food waste. We noodle around with meal kits… yet as convenient as a meal kit subscription can be, do we really want to be opting into more cardboard boxes and plastic pre-portioned ingredients for the long haul?

Cooking at home might mean one or all of these familiar approaches:

  • You might have a favourite go-to recipe that you cook over and over

  • You could buy pre-cut and pre-portioned ingredients to help you along your meal prep days

  • You’ve probably used a meal kit service to help streamline your weekday dinners and save on takeout

  • You’ve certainly splurged on takeout

  • You may have even invested in an online cooking masterclass

These are all tried and true strategies for most of us, so they aren’t going anywhere. But I think there’s a place between; a happy medium.

Lately, I’ve been noodling around and fine-tuning a vision I have of teaching people how to cook.

And I think I’m onto something, so I want your help! Here’s the deal:

Once in a while, I’ll add a themed ingredient to the member’s area. It might include things like:

  • a video tutorial base recipe of that ingredient

  • three additional recipes that can be made from said base ingredient

  • a weekly shopping list if you want to follow along for the entire ingredient journey (four awesome meal ideas!!)

  • standardized nutrition for each recipe

It’s a Cooking Club. Hub. Thing.

A “meal building, cooking-tool-kit repertoire portal”

Its purpose is to exist as a growing resource that you can tap into for cooking know-hows, put-togethers, inspirations, food budgeting and menu planning, all at your own pace-

without sacrificing your quality standards or your chequing account.

A place where you can gain kitchen confidence and cook the best food of your life.

We’ll start out of the gate with one base recipe per week with offshoot recipes and a shopping list.

Simple, easy to follow guidelines and instruction.

Evolve as we go. See how it feels. Have fun.

And we’ll spring off from there.

Welcome to the Club! It’s Free.
